In 2008, Just hours before the last Polaroid factory in Enschede, Holland was slated for demolition, a wildy passionate group of individuals stepped in and saved this medium from distinction.

This group is now called The Impossible Project. Dr. Edwin Land, creator of Polaroid Corp. once said "Don't do anything that someone else can do. Don't undertake a project unless it is manifestly important and nearly impossible." This project was just that. Creating new films and developing chemistry for classic Polaroid cameras.

1.1 - WHY FILM

Film is alive! In more ways that you would even imagine. Scientifically, film is truly alive due to its chemical properties. There is a shelf life on film. It ages as we age. There is depth and richness in film, as there is depth and richness in all of us. It sometimes can be manipulated and coaxed into doing things is was not meant to, as we sometimes can be. Then it can then be developed and and fixed, just as we can. Therefore I do believe that film is alive.
